The children were given an opportunity to choose, stuff, stitch, fluff,
name, dress, and take home their own personalized bears. They were also
treated to a meal at Chick-fil-A® and a photo by CR
Photo-Entertainment, Inc. Their parents enjoyed a night off with
discounted dinner at Champps while MPI volunteers assisted the children
on their adventure. The children enjoyed the evening leaving with
their bears and a gift bag from International Plaza containing Tampa
Bay Rays™ items.
In keeping with Tampa Bay Area MPI’s commitment to social
responsibility, the primary purpose of this event was to help the
children maintain a sense of their normal lives while dealing with the
daily struggles associated with childhood cancer. The children will
achieve this, in part, by sharing memories of love, hope, and laughter
through the experience the Build-A-Bear Workshop provides.
Sponsors making the evening possible included Tampa Bay Area Chapter of
Meeting Professionals International, conceptBAIT (title sponsor), CR
Event Photography, SuperShuttle/ExecuCar, Sensory5, Chick-fil-A and
Champps Restaurant and Bar.
