TAMPA – The Tampa Area Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) recently hosted its first ever joint Meetings Academy and Meetings Marketplace at The Lakeland Center. The event attracted more than 200 MPI members eager to climb the ladder to success.
Pat Williams, Senior VP of the Orlando Magic provided one rung of the ladder, with his Keynote address. Pat, one of America’s top motivational, inspirational, and humorous speakers, lead the audience through a discussion of “Walt Disney’s 5 Keys to Success.”
The upward climb continued with educational sessions covering a number of diverse topics ranging from the essentials of digital communication, to dealing with budgeting for events and integrating AV trends with social media.
Lunch and Meetings Marketplace presented members with more than 65 exhibitors to visit and learn about new opportunities and products available both locally and nationally.
In keeping with Tampa Bay Area MPI’s commitment to social responsibility, members were encouraged to assist in the collection a variety of much-needed household items for VISTE (Volunteers In Service To the Elderly). Their mission is to provide services which enable frail elderly persons (due to advanced age, poor health, unsafe living conditions, financial problems, isolated & lonely environments, medical needs, faulty nutrition, unavailable family assistance and many more)to continue to living independently in their own homes, safely, comfortable and in better health. www.viste.org
